Shawnee National Forest Young Trekkers connects kids, nature

JONESBORO - The Shawnee National Forest is hosting summer Young Trekkers program at the Lincoln Memorial Picnic Grounds in Jonesboro on three consecutive Tuesdays: July 9, 16 and 23 from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

A different theme will be covered each week as participants are immersed in the outdoors, as they discover the wonders of the natural world around them.

The program is designed for students first through fifth grades. Reserve a spot for your child for one day or all three. To preregister please call the Mississippi Bluffs Ranger Station at (618) 833-8576, Tuesday through Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
