Herrin man sentenced for insurance fraud
MARION - Clinton W. Crabtree, 47, of Herrin, pleaded guilty Monday in Williamson County Circuit Court to conspiracy/insurance fraud, a Class 2 felony, and was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
In May of 2018, evidence showed that Crabtree drove a U-Haul van into a vehicle belonging to another alleged conspirator for the purpose of making an insurance claim to receive insurance proceeds.
Crabtree has a criminal history, including prior convictions for burglary and battery. He will have to serve two years of mandatory supervised release following his release from prison.
