Veterans Honor Flight returnees greeted like heroes they are

On Oct. 1, veterans from southern Illinois spent the day touring monuments in Washington D.C. and then returned home to Veterans Airport in Marion to a heroes welcome.

The Honor Flights are sponsored by Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois, which raises money to carry World War II, Korean conflict and Vietnam-era vets to D.C. and back - with a full day of activities to boot.
