Filing for 2020 election is closed; here's who is running

Filing for the 2020 election has closed, and here are the candidates who filed to run for the U.S. Senate, congressional and Illinois house and senate seats that affect southern Illinois.

The Republican and Democratic parties will hold their primaries on Tuesday, March 17; the winning candidates will then move on to the November general election.

Where no one has run for a primary, the party has the right to appoint a candidate to run in the November election.
