Judith Joan Steinbrook of Omaha
Judith Joan Steinbrook, age 93 of Omaha, Illinois, passed from this life Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019.
Judy, as most knew her, was born on July 19, 1926 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Otis and Maude (Martin) Pinnell. Judy married Bob Steinbrook on Feb. 6, 1944. They enjoyed 72 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2016.
After high school, Judy continued her schooling with a Master's Degree in Education and worked for 24 years in Shawneetown and Alton schools as a first grade teacher. In that time, she influenced many students and co-workers alike with her positive attitude and loving nature.
She was a faithful member of the New Hope General Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Her life was centered on those she loved most - her husband, her daughter and son-in-law, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother and precious Gran. She will be missed.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Connie (Don) Brockett of Omaha; grandchildren, Ben (Kelly) Brockett, Katie (Matt) Seely and Beth (Kevin) Bowen; great-grandchildren, Emma, Reece, Max and Cybil Brockett, Brock, Blake and Carter Seely, Madelyn, Cooper, and Tucker Bowen.
Visitation for Judy will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2019 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Her funeral service will follow immediately at 1 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Roger Hobbs.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado.
Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the New Hope General Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
