Wynonna Judd coming to Saline County April 14

SALINE COUNTY - Famed country singer Wynonna Judd will perform at a benefit concert for Coleman Tri-County Services Inc. Wednesday, April 14 at Saline County Fairgrounds.

Lisa Knight with Coleman Tri-County told Saline County Tourism Board members that the musician, who performs as Wynonna, in a concert that will raise money for Coleman Tri-County.

Coleman Tri-County provides developmental training, vocational or re-vocational services and programming, supported living services and support services to adults with disabilities. The not-for-profit organization also provides additional services for those from birth through adult life to residents of Saline, Gallatin and White counties, with many services also offered for residents of 31 southern Illinois counties.

Knight said she's excited about the concert.

"I'm proud to say we're bringing Wynonna here to Saline County so everybody can enjoy her concert," Knight said.

Wynonna will be performing with her husband, musician Cactus Moser, and the program is billed as "An Evening with Wynonna and Cactus."

Tickets are available on Eventbrite for $25 to $50.

Knight met with the tourism board to request $7,000 to help with the cost of putting on the concert and keeping ticket prices low.

"We want anyone who wants to hear Wynonna to be able to," Knight said.

The tourism board unanimously approved the request, calling it a win for the region.

"This is a fantastic event, and I, for one, am glad to be able to help make it happen," tourism board member Eric Gregg said.

Knight said plans to keep fans socially distanced and mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19 are in place.

The concert is scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 at the Saline County Fairgrounds on Dorris Heights Road just off Illinois 34 North in Harrisburg.

Tickets are available starting at $25 online through Eventbrite. A limited number of box seats are available for $50 per person.
