Police investigate two shootings in Carbondale

Authorities are seeking suspects in multiple shooting incidents that have occurred recently in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police say they responded to two reports of gunfire late last week. The suspects in the unrelated incidents, which occurred three days apart, reportedly remain at large.

In the first incident, officers responded at 9:10 p.m. April 24 to the 500 block of South Rawlings Street for multiple reports of shots fired. Officers found the suspects had already fled.

No injuries were reported, but one vehicle at the scene was damaged as a result of the incident, and another vehicle damaged by gunfire later was located abandoned in the 400 block of West Elm Street.

Then, at 10:51 p.m. April 27, officers responded to the 700 block of South Lewis Lane for a report of shots fired. Again, officers found that the suspects already fled. Officers learned a person of interest was seen walking into the area where the shots were fired and then fled on foot at about the time of the incident. No injuries were reported, but two vehicles at the scene were damaged as a result of the incident.
