Woman in custody after home invasion

A Springfield woman faces multiple charges after she allegedly forced her way into a Carbondale home Tuesday evening after attacking the individual who answered the door.

Jazlen C. Bolden, 26, faces charges of home invasion, battery, aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting a peace officer and obstructing identification following the incident, which occurred July 22 in the 3100 block of West Sunset Street.

Carbondale Police responded to the area around 6:03 p.m. regarding a home invasion. Officers learned the suspect allegedly forced their way inside the residence and battered the victim. The victim received minor injuries as a result of the suspect’s attack, but declined medical attention.

The suspect reportedly refused to identify herself and battered officers when they arrested her. Officers identified the suspect as Bolden, who was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
