Cookbook fundraiser nets over $400 for pantry

Confluence Books set out hundreds of cookbooks at the Carbondale Farmers Market on Saturday, April 11 and about half of them found new homes, raising $429.80 for the Good Samaritan Food Pantry.

Later, 21 boxes of cookbooks were delivered to the Renew site in Marion, where 22 area food pantries will come to restock their shelves from the Midwest Food Bank. And the cash was delivered to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry.

Confluence Books is already setting aside donated cookbooks for the October fundraiser. Space is limited, so donors are asked to hold onto their books until October, if possible.
