Janet Lorraine Bizzell of Murphysboro

Janet Lorraine Bizzell, age 81, of Murphysboro passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Murphysboro.

She was born on June 8, 1944, to Howard Elliott and Reva (Bailey) Elliott in Rolla, Mo. On June 19, 1965, she married William Bizzell of Murphysboro. They were together 54 years.

Janet worked at various retailers including at Walmart for 15 years. Janet enjoyed gardening, bowling and playing bridge, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her children, Eric (Julie) Bizzell, John (Jenna) Bizzell and Lynn (Rick) Brady; six grandchildren, Rachel (Wesley) Norton, Kaytlyn (Rob) Bizzell, Will Brady, Davian Bizzell, Alivia Bizzell and Caleb Blythe; two great-grandchildren, Amelia and Alexander; and two sisters, Ann (Ed) Alsbury and Carole (Jim) Corzine.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Bizzell.

No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children.

The cremation of Janet Lorraine Bizzell will be handled by the staff of Crain Funeral Home.

Crain Funeral Home in Murphysboro is in charge of arrangements.
