Lillian Marie Lutes
Lillian Marie Lutes, 84, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Lillian had been a homemaker. She had worked at Lindy's Hanging Tree in Du Quoin, Blue Bell Packing and was the office manager for Dr. Thornburg. She was a member of the St. Johns United Church of Christ in Du Quoin. She was a member of the church women's fellowship, was a Sunday School teacher and had helped with the funeral dinners at the church.
She was born Nov. 20, 1929 at Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Clyde and Grace (Schmidt) Beasley.
She married James Robert Lutes on Oct. 8, 1955 at Louisville, Ill. and he preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1997.
She is survived by one daughter - Nancy Bird and husband Randall of Du Quoin, one son - Steven Lutes and wife Judi of Du Quoin, one brother - Ted Beasley of Du Quoin, one sister-in-law - Myrna Beasley of Du Quoin, four grandchildren - Amy Williams and husband Robert of Du Quoin, Staci Lutes of Du Quoin, Alex Lutes of Wyoming and Melissa Bird of Pinckneyville, four great grandchildren - Davis Lutes, Avery Williams, Brady Wenzel and Sofie Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother - Ed Beasley.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Dwayne Dollgener officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the St. Johns United Church of Christ and will be accepted at the funeral home.
