Four teachers near retirement Du Quoin

The Du Quoin Board of Education has received letters of intent from four District 300 teachers who plan to retire within the next three years.

Their letters will be accepted at Thursday night's board of education meeting. That meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

They include: Jane Tuthill, DHS teacher who will retire effective at the end of the 2015-2016 school year; Deborah Manino, a DHS teacher who will retire at the end of the 2015-2016 school year; Denver Tolbert, a Du Quoin Middle School teacher who will retire at the end of the upcoming school year; and Debra DeMent who will retire as an elementary teacher effective at the end of the 2015-2016 school year.

The board will also hear a report from the district architect on the final stages of completion of the new high school and will hear a presentation from Supt. Dr. Gary Kelly on the 2013-2014 district budget.
