Harrisburg man wanted for murder
HARRISBURG - Illinois State Police issued a request for public assistance in locating a Harrisburg man sought in connection with the March 13 shooting death of a 19-year-old Harrisburg woman.
ISP is asking the public to help locate Alexander McWilliam. McWilliam is described as a 36-year-old Black male about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 215 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
ISP says McWilliam is considered armed and dangerous. ISP cautions the public that if they believe they have observed McWilliam or know of his current whereabouts not to approach him but instead call 911.
Also, Gallatin County Coroner Tony Cox released his report about the death of Mishealia Meredith. Meredith is believed to have been killed in an Eldorado location on the 800 block of High Street in Eldorado. Cox's office was notified March 14 of the discovery of her body in an agricultural field along North Pool Road in Gallatin County.
Cox, in his report, said an autopsy was performed March 16, with preliminary findings determining Meredith was killed by a gunshot wound to the head. The death was determined a homicide. Toxicology and final results are pending.
