Du Quoin children raise funds for young girl battling disease

DU QUOIN - The Du Quoin Middle School Builders Club is raising money in a unique way for a 4-year-old girl in the community, aka "Princess Addy," who is currently fighting childhood leukemia.

Students have been busy painting fingernails for a $1 donation to the princess at school during their lunch hour. Students who wish to donate without getting their nails polished have bought paper nail polish bottles that are hung on the wall with the donor's name.

"We've raised $188 so far for Addy (Adelyn Jones)," said club sponsor Laura Krone. "This Wednesday is our last day for painting nails."
