Perry County Sheriff's Department Shuts down Coulterville Meth Lab

On Tuesday Nov. 6, 2012 at approximately 8 p.m., Perry County Deputies arrested Charles Schaefer, 52, of Coulterville.

Schaefer was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Schaefer was transported to the Perry County Jail awaiting bond to be set.

On Wednesday Nov. 7, 2012 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Perry County Sheriff's Department along with members of the Perry County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on the Charles Schaefer residence located on Hydrangea Rd., Coulterville.

Large amounts of methamphetamine and P\precursors were found in the Schaefer residence.

Schaefer is incarcerated in the Perry County Jail on charges of possession of controlled substance (meth) and participation of methamphetamine manufacturing. Bond was set at $75,000 10% applies.

Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
