Electrical short in living room blamed for Pinckneyville fire

An electrical short in the living room is apparently to blame for a Sunday afternoon fire at a house at 4540 Primrose Road about a mile north of Pinckneyville.

Fire Chief Jim Gielow said residents were not home at the time of the fire. Firefighters were at the scene for about two hours and the fire was contained to the living room, but there was smoke and water damage throughout the house.
