Write on! Eldorado Rotary provides fourth graders with dictionaries

ELDORADO - Fourth graders at Eldorado Elementary School won't have to use their new dictionaries to look up the meaning of the word "generosity."

Instead, they got a working example Tuesday.

Eldorado Rotary Club members visited the grade school after lunch to hand out new dictionaries to fourth-grade students.

And, the Rotarians got a little help from some fifth-graders as well. Students Ethan Taylor, Elijah Passmore and Matt Grishmah unloaded the boxes of dictionaries from Rotary President Caleigh Bruce's vehicle to a hand cart, and then hauled them to the fourth grade classroom area of the school.

Rotarians and the three fifth-graders then handed out the dictionaries to students in the fourth-grade classrooms.

Rotary member Bob Dick, who orders the dictionaries each year, said the program has been ongoing for about five years. He said it was a project the area's Rotary district encouraged to help young students.

Fourth-grade teachers and school principal Blake Bradley said the school greatly appreciates the generosity of Rotary providing the dictionaries, and each class of students gave a big "thank you" to the Rotarians.
