Jane J. Hays, formerly of Chester

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Jane J. Hays (nee) Juergens, 84, of Belleville, born November 11, 1932, in East St. Louis, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at St. Elizabeth's Hospita in Belleville, IL.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Jane grew up in Chester and after graduating from Chester High School, attended McMurray College from 1950 to 1954.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">On December 19, 1953, she married her husband, Donald L. Hays, in Chester. Shortly after their marriage, Don, as an officer in the 804th Engineer Aviation Battalion, was assigned to RAF Station Greenham Common in the United Kingdom.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">He and Jane resided there for a couple of years before returning to Steeleville to establish their home. Jane became the loving mother of three adoring children.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Hays, who died January 6, 1977, and her parents, Judge William G. and Helen A. (nee Young) Juergens.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">Surviving are two sons and a daughter - Greg Hays of Belleville; Heidi (Gary) Thacker of Belvidere and Michael (Charlotte) Hays of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Seven grandchildren - Kelsey (Nick Fulton) Thacker, Kendall (fiancé Jason Ferree) Thacker, Juergen Hays, Emilijah Hays, Jared Hays, Hayley Hays and Wyatt Hays.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">One brother - Dr. William G. (Joan) Juergens of St. Louis, Mo.; and a sister-in-law, Jeanie (Randy) Bond of Steeleville.</span>
