John Joe Bruno of Pinckneyville

J<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">ohn Joe Bruno, 84, of Pinckneyville passed away at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017, at his home.<br /> John was born July 5, 1932, in Perry County, a son to John Batiste and Josephine (Ruffino) Bruno. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War and obtaining the rank of corporal. On Nov. 5, 1955, he married&#160; Ruth Elaine Henseler in Pinckneyville, and she passed away May 31, 2016, after 60 years of marriage. He had worked as a mechanic and machinist at Captain Mines for 18 years. John was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville and U.M.W.A. Local 1392. He enjoyed mowing grass, running heavy equipment, traveling and playing with his grandchildren.<br /> Survivors include his two sons, John Bruno of Pinckneyville and Joseph Bruno (fiancé Kathy Detmer) of Pinckneyville; two daughters, Jenny Low (Chen Chor) of Longmont, Colo., and Joany (Larry) Smith of Pinckneyville; three brothers, Mike Bruno, Pete (Leta) Bruno and Gene Bruno, all of Pinckneyville; two sisters, Mary Wetting of Steeleville and Margaret Padfield of Benton; five grandchildren, David A. (Michelle) Smith, Jessica (Mario) Beshears, Laura Callihan (fiancé Mitch Graff), Diana (Tyler) Reinhold and Sierra Bruno; and seven great-grandchildren, Mary Smith, Daxton, Dawson, Daegon and Daelon Beshears, and Ian and Shyann Callihan.<br /> He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Jeanny Bruno; two sisters-in-law, Mary Bruno and Betty Bruno; two brothers, Floyd Bruno and Richard Bruno; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Padfield and Arthur Wetting.<br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_1581_1727" tabindex="0">Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville with Brother Rob Mathis officiating.</span> Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Pinckneyville.<br /> <span class="contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_1786_1940" tabindex="0">Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville.</span><br /> Memorial donations may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery.<br /> Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville is in charge of arrangements.<br /> For more information or to sign an online guest register, please visit&#160; www.pyattfuneralhome.com. <br /> </span></span>
