Lady Panthers keep rolling, blast Nashville
NASHVILLE - Mariah Clark tossed a three-hitter as the Pinckneyville High School softball team beat Nashville, 13-2, Monday in an SIRR Mississippi Division contest.
"Mariah threw a great game again," said Pinckneyville coach Alan Engelhardt.
Clark, who improved to 4-0 in the circle, also went 2-for-3 with a solo homer at the plate.
Lauren Jackson hit a three-run homer in the third inning to help the Lady Panthers take a 5-0 lead.
"That broke the game open," Engelhardt said.
Jackson finished 3-for-3 for the game, while Kylee Kling also went deep for a two-run homer and doubled.
Josie Gleason also had two hits and four RBIs for the Lady Panthers, who racked up 13 hits, including another homer from Hannah Dascotte.
"I thought we hit the ball well up and down the lineup," Engelhardt said. "We got hits from seven of the nine spots in the order."
Pinckneyville was scheduled to host Carterville on Tuesday and travel to Sparta on Thursday.
