Bonnie Kay (Norris) Westerman of Kansas City, Mo. formerly of Du Quoin, Ill. passed away April 10, 2013 at Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, Mo.

Bonnie was born on May 22, 1945 in Du Quoin to Albert and Dorothy Norris. She married Johnny Westerman, of Kansas City, Mo., on May 4, 1984. He survives.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dorothy and Albert Norris in 2009 and mother and father in law, John and Lorene Westerman.

She was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church of Kansas City, Mo. Bonnie was an employee of Marshall Browning hospital in Du Quoin for 13 years before her marriage in 1984. She then moved to Kansas City where she was employed at MCI Hospital (1991- 2007). While employed there, she received the employee of the month and later employee of the year (2001). After the closing of MCI , she then began working at the newly opened Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo. When Bonnie wasn't working at the hospital, she cleaned houses for a few friends, took elderly people to the nursing home to visit their spouses and even playing a little bingo while there. Friends and family were very important to Bonnie. She had a heart the size of Texas, always remembering friends in Kansas City as well as Du Quoin with cards, whether it be birthday, anniversary, get well or any other occasion, many times even making a phone call to them. Bonnie would many times fix up what she called "care packages" for her family and friends. She was always thinking of others. Bonnie always had a smile on her face, only saw the good in people and always had a positive attitude even at the end of her life. Anyone who knew Bonnie couldn't help but love her. She will be greatly missed, especially by her church family and all her co-workers and employees at Centerpoint medical center.
