Clifford Ray Holloway
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Clifford Ray Holloway, age 92, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 4:45 p.m. in Fairview Nursing Home, Du Quoin, Ill.
Cliff was born on June 2, 1919 in Johnson County, Ill., a son to Barney and Lona (Greer) Holloway. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country as a Seaman 1st Class during World War II. On March 15, 1936, he married Wanda A. Keene in Tamaroa, Ill. and she passed away after 66 years of marriage on Oct. 24, 2002. He had retired as a coal miner with Consolidated Coal Company #2 Mine after 30 years of service. Cliff was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God, Pinckneyville, Ill. and the Masonic Mitchell Lodge #85, Pinckneyville, Ill. He loved parakeets, fishing, hunting and camping and especially loved running the Dairy Queen in Pinckneyville, Ill.
Survivors include his son, Clifford "Ron" (Darlene) Holloway of Pinckneyville, Ill.; a son-in-law, Frank (Diane) Stein of Pinckneyville, Ill.; a sister, Mary Ann Lazenby of Pinckneyville, Ill.; four grandchildren, Julie Davis, Doug Wedeking, Scott Wedeking and Megan Wommack; seven great-grandchildren, Ashely Simpson, Chloe Wommack, Maggie Wommack, Laura Pierce, Reise Wedeking, Caitlyn Wedeking, and Camden Wedeking and a great-great-grandson, Ayden Vintz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Holloway; a daughter, Judith Rae Stein; two sisters, Ferne Milligen and Mabel Gann and two brothers, Douglas Holloway and Carl Holloway.
Funeral services were held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.
Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
