Registration open for Superhero 5K

Registration is open now for the ninth-annual For Kids' Sake Superhero 5K to be held starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at Turley Park in Carbondale.

Registrants are encouraged to ask friends, family and neighbors to make charitable contributions in support of kids in Bangladesh.

Everyone who raises $300 or more will support an orphan for six months and take home a customized For Kids' Sake fleece blanket.

To register and start raising money, visit forkidssake.net. Pre-registration is open through Friday, Sept. 20, costing $20 for adults and $10 for kids 17 years old and under. Everyone who pre-registers is guaranteed an official race t-shirt.

Day-of registration is $25 for adults and $10 for kids with official race t-shirts available while supplies last.
