James A. Brocaille

James A. Brocaille, 70, of Tamaroa, passed away at 12:42 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 at his residence.

James had worked as an over-the-road truck driver and a roof bolter at Old Ben Coal Company. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of UMW of A. James had been a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era.

He was born Dec. 23, 1944 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of James V. and Norma L. (Branum) Brocaille.

He married Donna Gail Schickedanz on Nov. 20, 1989 at Paducah, Ky. and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, one daughter - Cheryl Addison of Mount Vernon, Ill., one step son - Aaron Spain of Dunn, N.C., four grandchildren - Kelli Tadlock, Felica Owen, Farron Owen and Christian Owen, one sister - Sandra Ward and husband Ron of Vergennes, Ill., one brother - Jeff Brocaille of Tamaroa, and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers - David Brocaille and Jerry Brocaille.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Raymond Baggott officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial will be in the Tamaroa Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.

Friends may make memorials to American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
