Local students land on SIUE dean's list

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has announced the names of students qualifying for the dean's list for spring 2017, including several from Du Quoin and the surrounding communities.

To qualify, a student must maintain a grade-point average of 3.5 or better and have 12 hours calculated (B is equivalent to 3.0; A to 4.0).

Local students to receive the honor are Corwin Lee Fritts, an electrical engineering student from Du Quoin; Kayla Renee Mares, a nursing student from Du Quoin; James D. Sparks, an undeclared student from Du Quoin; Gabrielle Lauren Weis, a nursing student from Du Quoin; Kaitlyn Ann Goldman, and early childhood education major from Pinckneyville; and Dustin Jay McCurdy, a construction management major from Pinckneyville.
