Richard Oliver Yates

Richard Oliver Yates, 67, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:13 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Fair Acres Rehabilitation and Care Center in Du Quoin, Ill.

He was born Thursday, Dec. 21, 1944 in Indianapolis, Ind., a son to Cyrus Oliver Yates and Effie Mae (Davis) Yates.

Richard served in the U.S. Air Force, was a welder and was a member of First Baptist Church of Du Quoin.

He is survived by a daughter, Tracey Nagel and husband Mark of Indiana. Several cousins also survive, including Carolyn Young and Peggy Davis of Mount Vernon, Ill.

His parents and one cousin, Danny Young, preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Du Quoin with Reverend Richard Pierce officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Du Quoin.

There will be no visitation.
