Leon Locklear, Jr

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Leon Locklear, Jr., 27, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Leon had worked as a drywaller in construction. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed Harley Davidson. Leon loved to cook.

He was born Aug. 17, 1983 at Lumberton, N.C., the son of Leon Locklear, Sr. and Virginia Sanderson.

He is survived by his mother - Virginia Sanderson of Pembroke, N.C., fiancee - Laura Sims of Du Quoin, one daughter - Brynleigh Locklear of Du Quoin, four brothers - Patrick Locklear, Brian Locklear, Brett Locklear and Jeremy Sanderson, all of Pembroke, N.C., four sisters - Holly Jacobs, Victoria Sanderson, Tiara Locklear and Tabatha Locklear, all of Pembroke, N.C., grandmother - Elmer Sanderson of Pembroke, N.C., father-in-law and mother-in-law - Steve and Teri Sims of Du Quoin, sister-in-law - Mandy Brunken and husband Eddie of Cambria, Ill., brother-in-law - Derek Sims and wife Karly of Du Quoin, special friends - Barb and Joe Soldan of Tamaroa, several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother - Leonard Locklear.

Memorial services were held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with the family conducting the service.
