Klausing charged with drug possession
A 42-year-old Chester resident, Aimee L. Klausing, is facing a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine under 5 grams after being arrested June 3 by Chester police.
According to a Wednesday news release by the CPD, officers conducted a traffic stop on Klausing's vehicle at 8:30 a.m. after determining her license had been revoked.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a substance believed to contain meth, along with a prescription drug. The release states police also confiscated items of paraphernalia suspected of containing trace amounts of a controlled substance.
Klausing was also cited for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was arrested at the scene and transported to the Randolph County Jail.
Klausing made her initial appearance in court on Monday and was assigned public defender James Kelley. Bond was set at $10,000 and the case has been scheduled for a June 19 preliminary hearing at 10 a.m.
