Robert L. Wilmoth

Robert L. Wilmoth, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:43 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2013 at his residence.

Robert was a U.S. Air Force veteran of 25 years, serving as a Captain during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, he worked in the business office of the Air Force Academy in Colorado. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin.

He was born Feb. 27, 1932 at Beaver, Okla., the son of Lynn and Bea (Baragree) Wilmoth.

He married Alice A. Burks on June 5, 1954 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two sons - Robert L. Wilmoth Jr. of California and Michael Wilmoth of Texas, one daughter - Therese Kenney of Montana, one grandson - Michael Carney and one sister - Pat Cook of Hannibal, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Fr. Augustine Ibezimako officiating.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin at a later date.

Friends may make memorials to the American Lung Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
