William Dean Isom

William Dean Isom,77, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:04 P.M., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Bill had been the owner of Guthrie Appliance in Du Quoin for sixteen years.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and was a choir member of the church.

He was a member of the Du Quoin Elks Lodge and had served three terms as Exalted Ruler. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Bill had been a Khoury League Coach for several years.

He was born August 14, 1938 at Du Quoin, IL the son of John Malvern and Marguerite (Elliott) Isom.

Bill married JoAnn Sgroi on February 11, 1961 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, son- William Scott Isom and significant other Rachael and her two children-Alexis and Cameron of Du Quoin, Granddaughter- Laura Isom of Du Quoin, granddaughter- LaChrisha Dunmyer and daughter Lily Williams, brother- Dr. Robert Isom and wife Dorothy of Oshkosh, WI, two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

The Rosary will be prayed at 9:20 A.M., Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorial to the American Cancer Societey or to Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
