Obituary for Robert D. Garrett

<span>Robert D. Garrett, 90, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.</span>

<span>Born in Belmont, Ill., on July 5, 1925, he was the son of the late Leo and Rachel Tanquary Garrett; was a retired petroleum geologist and was a Navy veteran of World War II.</span>

<span>Garrett was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed playing golf, studying foreign languages and playing chess. He was a past president of the Owensboro Lions Club.</span>

<span>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Robin Dale Garrett and his father and mother-in law, Hal and Pearl Barger.</span>

<span>Surviving are daughters Brenda Lee Hern and her husband Larry of Owensboro and Bonnie Ree Kish and her husband Ken of Brentwood, Tenn., and grandchildren, Dana Lee Hern, Tara Lynn Hern, Ashley Elizabeth Kish and Kenneth Steven Kish, Jr.</span>

<span>Services and visitation will be private with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester.</span>
