Carol Ann Cook

Carol Ann Cook, 65, of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at the Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield, North Carolina.

Carol had been a registered nurse, working in hospitals and the Institute of Health Management. She had also been a beauty consultant for Mary-Kay Cosmetics.

Carol was a member of the First Christian Church in Du Quoin.

She was born March 17, 1949, at Murphysboro, Illinois, the daughter of William Charles and Stella (Underwood) Schott.

She married Charles E. Cook on June 11, 1983, at Du Quoin, Illinois and he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2003.

She is survived a daughter- Rebecca McMurray of Murphysboro, son- Brian McMurray of Chicago, grandchildren-Alexis Brooke McMurray and Joshua Charles McMurray, goddaughter-Wanda Cooper, brother-Charles Schott and wife Brenda of Ava, niece- Sarah Schott and nephew- Billy Schott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter-Julie McMurray.

Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
