James C. Red

James C. Red, 86, of West Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 at the VA Hospital Hospice Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

James had worked as a foreman at U.S. Gypsum in Pinckneyville. He was of the Methodist faith. James had been a Corporal in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion.

He was born May 9, 1928 at Marshall, Ill., the son of Ernest and Ruth B. (Moore) Red.

He is survived by one daughter - Patty Konecny of West Des Moines, Iowa, two grandsons - James Konecny of Washington State and David Konecny of Louisiana and two great grandchildren - Viera Konecny and Amelia Konecny.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter - Marthena C. Red.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Jarrett Wells officiating.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
