Jessie T. Combs Sr.

Jessie T. Combs Sr., 65, of Mount Vernon, Ill., formerly of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

Jessie had been a commercial fisherman. He was a member of the Casey Avenue Baptist Church in Mount Vernon.

He was born May 4, 1949 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Willis W. and Ruby M. (Webb) Combs.

He married Beth Sanders on Oct. 8, 2007 at Mount Vernon and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Mount Vernon, four children - Jessica Combs of Van Worth, Ohio, Christopher Combs and wife Maggie of Chikaming Township, Mich., Jessie T. Combs Jr. and wife Aleta of Sesser, Ill. and Jerry Combs and girlfriend Jennifer Teets of Sesser, Ill. , grandchildren - Christopher Combs, Chase Combs, Amanda Combs, Samantha Combs, Shawn Combs, Thomas Combs, Rebecca Combs and Catherine Combs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife - Loretta Combs, one brother - Harry A. Combs, and two step sons - Ricky Curtis and Kenny Curtis.

Cremation services were held.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.
