Irene Conte

Irene Conte, 98, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:53 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at Fairview Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin.

Irene had worked in housekeeping at the McNeil Memorial Hospital in Chicago from 1965 to 1990.

She was of Catholic faith.

She was born Feb. 8, 1915 in Du Quoin, Ill. the daughter of James and Clementina (DeMarchi) Conte.

She is survived by several nieces an nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and several great great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers- Louis Conte, John Conte and Wante Conte, two sisters- Katherine Radochonski and Jo Anna Macaluso.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Dan McKinnies and Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until time of service Friday at the Searby Funeral Home.

Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the IOOF Cemetery in Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Marshall Browning Tree of Life or to the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
