Harold Townsend George

Harold Townsend George, 75, of Tamaroa, passed away at 2:21 p.m. on Oct. 5, 2013 at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He worked for many years in maintenance for the Village of Tamaroa. Harold was also a U.S. Army veteran.

Harold was born May 28, 1938 in Tamaroa, Illinois, the son of Harold W. and Norma J. (Presswood) George.

He is survived by one brother- Marvin George and wife Joyce of Du Quoin, two sisters- Connie Prusacki of Tamaroa and Peggy Koenegstein and husband Mike of Tamaroa and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-Ivan George and one sister-Donnie Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Tamaroa with Rev. Joe Crowe officiating.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. Visitation will also be from 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, until time of service at the church.

Interment will be in the Tamaroa City Cemetery at Tamaroa.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
