Steven Perardi

Steven Perardi, 85, of Du Quoin, Ill., and formerly of Lewistown, Ill., passed away at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center of East Peoria.

He was born Feb. 4, 1928 at St. David, Ill.; the son of Pete and Lena (Fontana) Perardi. He married June Jackson on June 20, 1947 at Lewistown. She preceded him in death on Aug. 9, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Surviving is one daughter, Stephanie (Larry) Lemke of Peoria; one son, David (Dana) Perardi of Du Quoin; one granddaughter, Jill Perardi of Atlanta, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.

Steve was a retried coal miner. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Du Quoin, UMWA District 12, Italian Brotherhood Torinese Society, Alligators Club, Lewistown Lodge 104 AF & AM, Ainad Shriners of East St. Louis and Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Southern Illinois. He enjoyed playing poker and rummy and spending time with his friends.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Danie deBeer officiating. Visitation was held Sunday, July 7 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the memorial home with a masonic service at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lewistown.
