Elizabeth Macaluso

Elizabeth Macaluso, 79, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:31 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Liz had been a homemaker and had worked at Marshall Browning Hospital for seventeen years. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin and had been a Sunday School Teacher and was church secretary for over thirty years. She was a member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary for seventeen years. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

She was born May 9, 1933 at Tamaroa, Ill., the daughter of Irvin and Catherine (Dudley) Fisher.

She married Sam Macaluso on Nov. 17, 1951 at Piggott, Ark. and he survives.

She is survived by her husband of Du Quoin, one daughter - Tina Baitinger and husband Steve of Mexico, Mo., two sons - Louie Macaluso of Michigan City, Ind. and Rick Macaluso of Carmel, Ind., five grandchildren - Michelle Williams, Gregg Baitinger, Jennifer Stewart, Danielle Macaluso, and Nathan Macaluso, seven great grandchildren - Landon Williams, Cameron Williams, Braden Williams, Simon Baitinger, Olivia Baitinger, Kinley Stewart and Brynn Stewart, one sister - Shirley Rogers of Columbia, Mo., several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother - Junior Fisher and three sisters - Alberta Bond, Norma Jean Medina and Gladys Medina.

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Dan McKinnies and Rev. C.L. McKinnies officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday at the First United Pentecostal Church in Du Quoin.

Private family committal service will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life or the First United Pentecostal Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
