Nina L. Tucker

Nina L. Tucker, 92, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 2:10 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital in Pinckneyville.

Nina had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville and was a Prayer Warrior.

She was born Aug. 10, 1920 at Elkville, Ill., the daughter of Thomas J. and Maida (Gill) Hurst.

She married John W. Tucker on June 27, 1943 at Elkville, Ill. and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2005.

She is survived by two sons - Tom Tucker and wife Janice of Fairfield, Ill. and Dan Tucker and wife Mary of Bedford, Va., one brother - Bill T. Hurst and wife Marilyn of Sarasota, Fla., five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister - Eunice Gill Hurst.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Rob Mathis officiating.

Friends may call from Noon until the time of service on Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the DeSoto Cemetery at DeSoto, Ill.

Friends may make memorials to the Oak Grove Baptist Church or Lake Sallateeska Baptist Camp and will be accepted at the funeral home.
