Hilda Louise Dunmyer

Hilda Louise Dunmyer, age 79, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at 9:45 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Louise was born on March 30, 1933 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to John Morris and Reathel (Morrisey) Tilley. On Aug. 22, 1950, she married Forrest Dunmyer Sr. in Pinckneyville, Ill. and he survives. Louise was a member of Gospel Assembly Church, Du Quoin, Ill. where she sang in the choir and played in the church band for many years. She worked at Blue Bell Packing Company, Du Quoin, Ill. for 11 years and Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin, Ill. as a cook, retiring after 16 years. Louise lived her life as a faithful, strong, Christian wife and mother and was a spiritual inspiration to her entire family. She loved being with her family and was very involved in their lives and enjoyed the precious time she spent with them. Louise was a true Christian at church, at home and in her everyday life.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Forrest Dunmyer Sr. of Du Quoin, Ill.; one son, John (Rita) Dunmyer; two daughters, Christy (Kim) Carter and Teddy (Rick) Taylor, all of Du Quoin, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Mary Dunmyer of Du Quoin, Ill.; three brothers, Clyde (Claudette) Tilley of Bourbannais, Ill., Norman (Janice) Tilley and George (Lori) Tilley, all of Du Quoin, Ill.; three sisters, Clara (David) Worthington of Du Quoin, Ill., Joyce Haggard of Du Quoin, Ill. and Jackie Carter of Mulkeytown, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sandy Tilley of Du Quoin, Ill.; sister-in-law, Joann Tilley of Du Quoin, Ill. and numerous dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Forrest "Frosty" Dunmyer Jr.; one brother, James Tilley and two sisters, Ilene Dunmyer and Bertha Carter.

Funeral service will be held at Gospel Assembly Church, Du Quoin, Ill. on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Dennis Fitzsimmons and Brother Gaylen Holden officiating. Interment will be in Old Du Quoin Cemetery, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends may call at Gospel Assembly Church, Du Quoin, Ill. on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Gospel Assembly Church, Du Quoin, Ill.
