Victor H. Epplin

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Victor H. Epplin, age 76 of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 in Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin, Ill.

Victor was born on May 29, 1936 in Pinckneyville, Ill., a son to Victor J. and Elizabeth B. (Stein) Epplin. On April 28, 1962, he married Norma Jean Brownfield in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was an operating engineer while stationed in Germany. Victor was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. He worked as a farmer, a truck driver for Dunn Brothers and also worked for Amax Coal and Arch Coal at the Denmark and Conant mines. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and Perry County Farm Bureau. Victor loved deer hunting, raising cattle, auto racing and working in his shop doing metal fabricating and repair work. He dearly loved his dogs Lucky, Brownie and Frisco.

Victor is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Epplin; son, Kenneth V. (Cynthia A.)Epplin and daughter, Nancy J. Epplin, all of Pinckneyville, Ill.; twin brother, August L. (Sandy) Epplin of Okawville, Ill.; sister, Virginia (George) Flure of Pinckneyville, Ill.; sister-in-law, Verna M. Epplin of Du Quoin, Ill.; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Leonard Epplin and sister-in-law, Laura J. Epplin.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Father Augustine Ibezimako and Father Nick Junker concelebrating the mass. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Research Foundation or St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery.
