Robert G. Miller
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert G. "Gene" Miller, 86, of O'Fallon, Mo., formerly of Mulkeytown, entered into rest on Monday, April 30, 2012 in O'Fallon, Mo.
Gene had been a farmer and coal miner. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was born April 4, 1926 at Murphysboro, Ill., the son of Jess and Eva (Koenig) Miller.
He married Mary A. Keeley on Dec. 7, 1946 at Murphysboro, Ill. and she preceded him in death on March 2, 2001.
He was dear father of Jama (Todd) Burks, Michael Miller, David (Mary S.) Miller, and Traci Kane, proud grandfather of Stephanie (Mark), Sean, Daniel, Brad, and Keeley, loving great grandfather of Morgan and Sariah, dear uncle, cousin, friend and "Paw Paw" of Ella.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Bro. Jerry Aken officiating.
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Burial was in the Mulkeytown Cemetery at Mulkeytown.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion.
Friends may make memorials to the American Kidney Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.
