</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Michael Jay Pruitt, age 59, passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Hospice Center of VA Hospital in Gainesville, Fla.

Michael was born Oct. 11, 1952 to Jack and Lulla Pruitt of Elkville, Ill., where he is survived by his mother. Also surviving are four brothers, Steve (Donna) Pruitt and James (Karen)?Pruitt of Gainesville, Fla., Larry Pruitt and Gary (Lisa) Pruitt of Elkville, Ill.; five sisters, Sandra (Ron)?Webster of New Castle, Pa., Cheryl Lear of St. Louis, Mo., Jackie Pruitt and Carol Crews of Edwardsville, Ill., Judy ?Seats (Warren) of Centralia, Ill. and 17 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Pruitt and brother, Jerry Pruitt of Indian Heart, Md.

Michael's wishes were for his body to be donated to medical science. His family and friends had a memorial service at a later date.
