Chesley H. Sullivan

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Chesley H. Sullivan, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:45 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Chesley was self-employed as a roofer. He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was born Oct. 18, 1930 at Locke, Tenn., the son of Cody and Linnie (Cook) Sullivan.

He married Alice G. Shain on Oct. 24, 1954 at Hernando, Miss. and she preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 1997.

He is survived by one daughter - Carolyn Brooks and husband Phillip of Pinckneyville, one son - Terry Sullivan and wife Donna of Pinckneyville, one sister - Billie Jo Schott of Santa Anna, Calif., six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother - James Sullivan.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
