Elda Kruse, 96
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Elda Kruse, 96 of Steeleville passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 5:20 pm at the Rehab and Care Center in Chester.
Elda was born March 17, 1915 in Percy, Illinois the daughter of John Rudolph and Maria Dovemuehle Gramenz. She married Arnold F. Kruse on June 19, 1937 at Steeleville. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1990.
Elda was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville and a former member of St. Mark's Ladies Aid.
Elda is survived by her son, Kenneth A. (Jane) Kruse of Steeleville; daughter, Louella M. (Elroy) Schoenbeck of Red Bud, IL; three grandchildren, Dean (Sheila) Schoenbeck of Red Bud, David (Jenni) Schoenbeck of Farmington, MO and Eric Kruse of Percy, IL; four great grandchildren, David Parker, Sydney Grace, Logan and Aiden Schoenbeck; and many nieces and nephews.
Elda was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Raymond; a foster brother, Harold Squires; and one sister, Minnie Reinhardt.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 1:30 pm at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville with Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke officiating.
Burial followed in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until Noon then from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the church.
Memorials may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
