Sue Ramsey
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Sue Ramsey, 49, of Mulkeytown, Ill., passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012 in the emergency room of Franklin Hospital in Benton as a result of an automobile accident.
She worked at the Appellate court house in Mt. Vernon as a deputy clerk for 31 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Sue was an avid basketball and softball player.
Sue was born Aug. 17, 1962 in Benton, Ill, the daughter of Wanda Jean (Johnson) and Herbert Ray Ramsey.
She is survived by her special companion, Brenda Taylor of Du Quoin and their two daughters, Megan Taylor and Chelsea and Jesse Smith and their son Kysen; Sue was like a second mother to her nieces and nephews: Mike and Melanie Jones, Jamie and John Cambron, David and Ashley Ramsey, Lacey Ramsey and Jessica and Dennis West. She is also survived by a niece, Jennifer Ramsey and six great nieces and nephews. Sue is survived by her brothers and sisters: Donna and James Jones of Mulkeytown, Lynn Ramsey and Jeff Lawhorn of Christopher and Ralph and Donna Ramsey of West City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Ramsey.
Funeral services were Monday Jan. 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, Ill. with Brother Mark Miller officiating.
Interment was in Mulkeytown Cemetery in Mulkeytown, Ill.
Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 8 after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer fund and will be accepted at the funeral home
