Leona M. Tate
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Leona M. Tate, 90, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:10 p.m, Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 at her residence.
Leona had been an administrative assistant in banking. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin. She was very involved in her church and the Du Quoin Food Pantry.
She was born Dec. 31, 1921 at Taylorville, Ill., the daughter of Jess and Adeline (Billet) Anscott.
She married William O. Tate in 1950 at Pana, Ill. and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son - Gary Tate and wife Irma of Hoffman Estates, Ill., one step son - William A. Tate of Arlington, Va., three grandchildren - Andrea Davis, Meredith Silverman and Brandon Tate, four great grandchildren - Corey Most, Christian Davis, Marissa Davis and Jerzy Davis and one niece - Janet Thomas of Pinckneyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother - Jess Anscott.
Funeral services were at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Mark Buetow officiating.
Friends called from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
