</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Donald Carl "Donnie" Beck, age 73, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at 9:47 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Donnie was born on June 7, 1938, in Pinckneyville, Ill., a son to Carl William and Iona E. (Benson) Beck. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. where he served as an usher from 1965 - 2003. Donnie started mowing lawns at age 15, delivered milk for Mr. Gruner, worked for the Secretary of State Office, Springfield, Ill. for five and a half years, worked for the City of Pinckneyville Street Department, worked for My-T-Fine Pudding for 22 years, was a janitor for the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and the Du Quoin State Fair Grounds, McDonalds crewmember, Du Quoin, Ill. for four and a half years, delivered papers in Pinckneyville, and retired from Gilster Mary Lee Corp after working for seven years. Donnie enjoyed paint by numbers, traveling, especially going to Branson and visiting relatives out west.

Donnie is survived by his sister, Marjorie Anne Beck of Pinckneyville, Ill. and many dear relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Tim Bauersachs officiating, Interment was in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, Ill.

Friends called at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Home, The Lutheran Hour and the Perry County Humane Society.
