Raymond R. Zelasko

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Raymond R. Zelasko, 89, of Centralia, formerly of Tamaroa, passed away at 5:20 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at the St. Mary&#39;s Hospital at Centralia.

Raymond had been a manager at Job Services in Centralia for 31 years. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in DuBois. He proudly served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of DAV and AARP. Raymond was a concertina player and had his own band in the 1950&#39;s that played at weddings and anniversaries.

He was born June 13, 1922 at Tamaroa, Ill., the son of Victor and Sophia (Wayer) Zelasko.

He married Eleanor Szperra on Oct. 12, 1948 at DuBois, Ill. and she preceded him in death on Dec. 6, 1996.

He is survived by 10 children - Raymond V. Zelasko and wife Vickii of Morris, Ill., Gary F. Zelasko and wife Janice of Edwardsville, Mary C. Cutler and husband Darrel of Herrin, Rodney C. Zelasko of Murphysboro, Janice S. Zelasko-Gomez of Vista, Calif., Cheyrl R. Caputo of Maryland Heights, Mo., Neal T. Zelasko and wife Debbie of Centralia, Alan J. Zelasko and wife Dianna of Centralia, Chris M. Zelasko and fiancee Gabby of Tamaroa and Paul B. Zelasko and wife Sue of Pleasant Hill, Calif., one sister - Lorraine Schubert and husband Eddie of Mt. Vernon, 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law - Frank Gomez and infant sister - Dorothy Zelasko.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in DuBois with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Rosary was prayed at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery at DuBois.

Friends may make memorials to the St. Charles Catholic Church or Masses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
