James A. Hunt

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James A. "Jim" Hunt, age 61, of Hanover, Ill., formerly of Ottawa, Ill., passed away Monday, Nov.7, 2011 at his residence in Hanover.

Memorial services were at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov.20, 2011 at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. Entombment was in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at Elwood, Ill. Gladfelter Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

He loved Jesus and his family. They were very special to him.

Jim was born April 15, 1950 at Herrin, Ill., a son of Frank and Jeanette Tripp Hunt.

He married Jennifer Hawkins and she preceded him in death on Aug., 24, 2008.

He is survived by his special children, grandchildren and three nephews. Survivors include his daughter, Melanie Haff and her three children, Sierra and Dakotah "Cody" Haff and John Trimarco; his half-brother, Sam; nephews, Aaron Hunt of Pontiac, Ill., Mike Hunt of Minneapolis, Minn. and Ian Hunt of Wyoming.

Those who preceded him in death were his mother and father; daughter, Megan Anna Hunt; brother, Tom Hunt; niece, Tia Gale Hunt and all of his grandparents.

Jim had lots of favorites in his life- people, places. Some of his favorite people were his aunt, Mary Stewart and husband Joe of Elkville, his uncle, Bill Tripp of Mulkeytown, his dad, Michael "De De" Jackovich and Mark Tripp of California.

He had many aunts and uncles and cousins by the dozens and a special friend, Elsie Tyner of Texas. His favorite ball team was the Cubs. Fishing was his favorite sport.

He was a very great and loving guy. He had many friends every place he lived. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and had been employed at Farm and Fleet in Ottawa. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Bureau County AMVETS and had been active with the Ottawa Police Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
